
What is a CGM?
A CGM or "Continuous Glucose Monitor" is a device that allows you to track your blood sugar without having to prick yourself each time you want a level.
It also acts a little bit like a "coach" - you will able to see in real time the effect that foods, drinks, movement, and stress are having on your blood sugar! This quick feedback helps us repeat healthy choices & avoid less healthy options.
Instead of waiting 3 months for a new A1c level...you can see in 30 minutes how your morning coffee or favorite afternoon snack interacts with your unique biology.
Who would benefit from this course?
Anyone who:
- Has Type II Diabetes (T2DM) - NOT currently taking insulin
- Has been diagnosed with Pre-Diabetes
- Has been told they have Metabolic Syndrome
- Has Gestational Diabetes or a history of Gestation Diabetes
- Is interested in healthy aging!
What does blood glucose have to do with healthy aging?
So glad you asked! You see...HIGH blood glucose leads to HIGH insulin.
Insulin is responsible for acting as a "key" that lets glucose into our muscles (a good thing!), but it's also a hormone that affects our triglycerides, estrogen, and testosterone levels.
It instructs our body to hold onto fat around the belly, liver, and pancreas (visceral fat) and contributes to increased inflammation. That inflammation can be the starting point for pain and increased blood pressure. 1,2,3

- Is currently taking insulin
- Struggles with an eating disorder
- Does not currently have a smart phone

4) Weekly group Zoom calls
Zoom calls will be used to review group members' CGM data from the week, ask questions you may have about the video lessons, and explore a short "working" exercise about that week's focus.
(Calls will be 45 min-1 hr and are recorded for your convenience)
